To advance our sustainability-focused solutions and achieve our long-term carbon reduction goals, we established the Arkas Line Carbon Committee in July. This committee will create our carbon reduction projections for 2030, 2040, and 2050 and determine the necessary steps to reach our net zero emissions target.
The committee brings together experts from various divisions of our company. Comprising representatives from Sustainability, OpEx, Operations, Fleet, Trade, and Global Customers directorates, this team will also develop projects aimed at increasing the use of biofuels. Its responsibilities include setting our carbon reduction targets, updating based on fleet investments and service changes, and providing low-emission transportation services to our customers. Additionally, by keeping up with the latest carbon reduction technologies and regulations in the maritime industry, we aim to integrate these innovations into our company.
The establishment of the Carbon Committee is a crucial step in minimizing our environmental impacts and advancing further in our sustainability journey. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to a sustainable future in maritime transportation.
