Along with the five art centers it has established in Izmir, Arkas aims to make art accessible to all members of society by collaborating with some of the world’s leading museums and art institutions, as well as organizing workshops and discussions for children and adults. As part of this mission, Arkas has become one of the sponsors of the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra (IZDSO) on its 50th anniversary.
Committed to spreading art and making it accessible to the entire society, Arkas continues to support both the arts and artists. Most recently, Arkas has become a sponsor of the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra (IZDSO) for the 2024-2025 season. Founded in 1975 as a chamber music ensemble before evolving into a symphonic orchestra, IZDSO will receive Arkas’ support for 14 concerts throughout the season.
International Women’s Day Concert
Among the concerts sponsored by Arkas is the “International Women’s Day Concert,” which will take place on March 7 at Ahmet Adnan Saygun Art Center to celebrate International Women’s Day. The concert is scheduled to start at 8 PM.
Other IZDSO concerts sponsored by Arkas include the “Poland-Türkiye Friendship Concert,” the “March 18 Canakkale Martyrs’ Memorial Concert,” the “Czechia-Türkiye Friendship Concert”, the “April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day Concert”, and the “May 19 Youth and Sports Day Special Concert.”
With its 90-member artist ensemble, IZDSO is one of the leading artistic institutions in Türkiye. Since 1975, the orchestra has demonstrated remarkable achievements in polyphonic music, playing a crucial role in introducing, fostering, and expanding the appreciation of this genre, particularly in Izmir and the Aegean region and across Türkiye. To introduce polyphonic music to Anatolia, the orchestra organizes concerts in villages, towns, and districts while successfully representing the Republic of Türkiye at national and international festivals.
