Arkas won two prizes in the categories of “Company Employing the Most Turkish Seafarers” and “Company Operating the Largest Number of Vessels under the Turkish Flag” at the 3rd Turkish Maritime Summit, which was hosted by the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The third Turkish Maritime Summit was held at Shipyard Istanbul this year. At the summit, expert speakers discussed the future vision of maritime, the fight against climate change, and the status of the Turkish International Ship Registry compared to flags of convenience. The summit brought participants from Türkiye and abroad together under one roof. The summit, attended by Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, and leading representatives of the maritime industry, featured Ali İbrahim Kontaytekin, Arkas Maritime Merchant Fleet Group Vice President, as a speaker in the session themed “Overview of the Turkish International Ship Registry in the Flag of Convenience Hegemony.”
Two Awards for Arkas
The Maritime Awards organized as part of the summit were also presented to their recipients. Arkas received two awards for its contribution to Turkish foreign trade in the categories of “Company Employing the Most Turkish Seafarers” and “Company Operating the Largest Number of Vessels under the Turkish Flag.” The awards were presented to Ali İbrahim Kontaytekin, Arkas Maritime Merchant Fleet Group Vice President, by Abdulkadir Uraloglu, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye.
