Tiny Hands Working for Our Forests

At the 22nd New Year’s Bazaar of Private Piri Reis Schools, students worked to support forests affected by wildfires.

The Bazaar, organized by parent-teacher associations with the aim of raising students’ awareness of social responsibility, fostering a spirit of solidarity and experiencing the joy of the new year together, took place at the Guzelbahce and Karsiyaka campuses. During the Bazaar, accompanied by pleasant melodies and attracting a large number of people from Izmir, students gained a sense of solidarity by selling souvenir items they had produced for social responsibility projects carried out as part of their classes at the stand allocated to them.
Nilufer Erturk and Gulcin Deveci, presidents of the Parent-Teacher Associations, said they were pleased with the interest shown in Private Piri Reis Schools’ traditional New Year’s Bazaar, noting: “Donating the fair’s proceeds to non-governmental organizations that serve society, particularly children, is a long-standing tradition of Piri Reis Schools.”  They added: “With the proceeds from this Bazaar, we will make a donation to the Aegean Forest Foundation (Ege Orman Vakfi) in order to expand the Piri Reis Grove, a project we initiated last year to raise awareness about forest fires.”
