Arkas Arcademia continues its events, curated with a wide range of diverse content, throughout February.
Clinical Psychologist Özge Çivci launched the book club in Bodrum in 2018 as an in-person gathering, moved it online during the pandemic, and recently picked up where she left off. Now, for the first time, she has brought it to İzmir as an in-person event hosted by Arkas Arcademia.
The book selected for the first meeting on February 7 was Annemin Uyurgezer Geceleri (My Mother’s Sleepwalking Nights) by Ayfer Tunç — a story of codependency in which women’s silenced, unspoken, and deeply buried stories are passed down through generations; a unique portrayal of wounds transmitted from mother to daughter.
Through this book, Clinical Psychologist Özge Çivci, together with the participants, explored from a psychological perspective the impact on the female psyche of being unable to break away from a pathological relationship and of power struggles within intimate relationships.
Arkas Arcademia will continue to host social and cultural events throughout 2026.
