As part of World Zero Emission Day, Arkas Line aims to increase the use of biofuels on our vessels to contribute to a low-carbon future. Biofuel, a crucial step in meeting the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) emission targets, stands out as the most effective solution until alternative fuel technologies become more widespread.
Our group company, Arkas Bunker, plays a leading role in this initiative. As the first company in Turkey to receive the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), Arkas Bunker is pioneering the use of biofuels. Starting in 2024, we will not only integrate biofuel into our operations but also plan to increase its use year by year as part of our annual budget strategy. This approach plays a key role in achieving our sustainability goals in the maritime industry, reducing our carbon footprint, and building a greener future for shipping.
