Innovate4Climate (I4C) is an annual global conference on climate finance, climate investment, and climate markets organized by the World Bank Group. Launched in 2017, I4C brings together thought leaders who aim to combine climate innovations with investment opportunities, transforming dialogue into action. As a continuation of CARBON EXPO, which was held from 2003 to 2016, I4C has become a recognized platform for both private and public sector players to develop carbon market infrastructure and foster collaboration on carbon markets and climate finance instruments.
At the 8th edition of IC4, held in Berlin from September 10-12 this year, Arkas Line participated in a panel titled “Managing Carbon Pricing in the Maritime Industry,” representing the maritime sector. The panel featured Maaike Breukels, Deputy Director of the Netherlands Emission Authority, Martin Cames, Senior Researcher at Oeko-Institut, Domagoj Baresic, Researcher at University College London’s Energy Institute, and Serra Tükel, Sustainability Director of Arkas Maritime Group. During the panel, discussions centered around the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and regulations affecting the maritime sector by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the European Union.
