Arkas Sailing Team won the 23rd Bosphorus Cup, which was held on the Bosphorus between September 19-22.
The 23rd Bosphorus Cup took place on the Caddebostan course with two races, one with a buoy course and the other with a geographical route around the Islands. In the races where 95 sailboats from 11 countries competed for 3 days under the theme of ‘Theater of Winds’, Arkas Sailing Team took part with their new boat TP52 model Blue Moon for the first time and Arkas M.A.T. Sailing Team with their new team for the first time.
After finishing 11th in the overall category in the first race of the first day and 1st in the overall category in the second race, Arkas Sailing Team finished 2nd in IRC 0 Category and 2nd in the overall category on the second day.
At the end of 5 races in the challenging waters of the Bosphorus, Arkas Sailing Team, led by Serhat Altay, emerged victorious with their new TP52 Blue Moon and embraced the Bosphorus Cup crystal trophy. This was also the last race in Türkiye for Blue Moon, which will sail to Italy.
Arkas Sailing Team, consisting entirely of Turkish licensed athletes, won the overall first place in the Bosphorus Cup once before, in 2015 with the Ker 40 Type Flying Box.
