Izmir Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has celebrated its 30th anniversary with an unforgettable night in the captivating atmosphere of the Ancient City of Ephesus.
The night, hosted by President Pietro Alba and Board members, was attended by Giorgio Marrapodi, Italy’s Ambassador to Ankara, Daniele Bianchi, Izmir Italian Consul, Lucien Arkas, Chairman of Arkas Holding, Merve Arkas, Monreve Group Chairman of the Board, as well as important representatives of the business world.
At the event, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Lucien Arkas for his 30th year of membership in the Izmir Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In his speech, Pietro Alba, President of the Izmir Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, thanked everyone who has contributed to their success in 30 years. “These 30 years have become the symbol of the collaboration between Türkiye and Italy. Each of our members has contributed to the state our Chamber has reached. Our chamber is a home for all of you; this success is the success of all of us”, he said. Alba also stated that they are proud to rank first among 86 chambers in 63 countries globally and continued, “This milestone allows us to look with hope not only to the past but also to the future. I sincerely believe we will further develop commercial relationships between Türkiye and Italy in the coming years.”
Italy’s Ambassador to Ankara, Giorgio Marrapodi, highlighted Pietro Alba’s strong leadership and said, “In the rapidly changing global conditions following the pandemic, Izmir Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has achieved significant success. Mr. Pietro Alba not only improved the Chamber but also strengthened the friendship and collaboration between Türkiye and Italy.”
Izmir Italian Consul, Daniele Bianchi, drew attention to the close cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and the consulate. “Izmir Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry played an important role in strengthening the trade relations between the Aegean region and Italy. As Consulate, we believe we will reach greater goals with our Chamber. Celebrating this night in the Ancient City of Ephesus is a great choice to reflect the depth of the historical and cultural ties between Italy and Türkiye,” he said.
The night ended with the cutting of the 30th-anniversary cake.
