Yang Ming Continues its Journey with Arkas Bunker

Yang Ming, one of the world’s leading shipowners, made its first biofuel supply from Arkas Bunker last month and has chosen to continue working with Arkas Bunker after seeing positive results.

Having received its first biofuel supply from Arkas Bunker in November, Yang Ming sees the eco-friendly “Bio24F” product as a concrete step in reducing its carbon footprint. Following its satisfaction with Bio24F, Yang Ming made a second supply from Arkas Bunker in December.

Seçkin Gül, General Manager of Arkas Bunker, stated: “After a long period of meticulous work, we received our ISCC Certification and became the first company in Türkiye to provide the Bio24F supply in marine fuels. Our pace is now quicker. Today, we are delighted and proud to make the second Bio24F supply to Yang Ming, one of the world’s leading shipowners. This second supply, which is a significant milestone for us, reflects the positive outcomes and satisfaction with the fuel’s performance from the first supply.

We have noticed that using Bio24F not only helps shipowners reduce their carbon tax obligations under the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), but also significantly cuts CO2 emissions. We have seen the remarkable qualities of our fuel firsthand. While using the biofuel we named Bio24F on Arkas Line vessels, we are also offering it to other shipowners. Together with our experienced colleagues and business partners, we continue to work relentlessly on biofuels. We stand by all our shipowners with special solutions for their vessels to reach cleaner seas in their sustainability journeys.”

Arkas Bunker is the first company in Türkiye to obtain the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) for marine fuels. The company now offers its eco-friendly and carbon-reducing biofuel to all shipowners. Having started supplying Bio24F in the second quarter of the year, Arkas Bunker made a supply to Arkas Line’s vessel Matilde A in May 2024.
