As part of the events marking the 100th anniversary of the Cabotage Law’s entry into force, Arkas received the “Highest Seafarer Employment” award at the 5th Türkiye Maritime Summit. The award, which marks the fourth time Arkas has been recognized for its contribution to seafarer employment at the Türkiye Maritime Summit, was presented on behalf of Arkas to Bernard Arkas, Vice President of Arkas Holding, by Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye and Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.
Organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure at Tersane Istanbul, the 5th Türkiye Maritime Summit brought together stakeholders from across the maritime industry as part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the Cabotage Law’s entry into force. The summit addressed topics including the development of Turkish maritime trade, current issues in global maritime transportation, the future of ports, sustainability, and human resources in the maritime sector.
At the Maritime Awards ceremony held as part of the summit, Arkas was honored with the “Highest Seafarer Employment” award. With this distinction, Arkas has now been recognized for its achievements in seafarer employment at the Türkiye Maritime Summit for the fourth time. Previously, Arkas received the “Company Employing the Highest Number of Turkish Seafarers” award in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
