Arkas Science and Arts Center (Arkas BILSEM), supported by Arkas Holding’s visionary approach to education, has achieved significant international recognition. It has been one of the finalists in the “Environmental Action” category of the “World’s Best School Prizes”, organized by UK-based T4 Education.
Established in the 2020–2021 academic year with the support of Arkas Holding’s vision in education, Arkas BILSEM has rapidly grown into an exemplary institution recognized globally for its achievements. With its student-centered approach, interdisciplinary education model, and inclusive structure, the school creates a strong impact not only in academics but also in the fields of social and environmental responsibility.
3 Schools from Türkiye
This year, Arkas BILSEM was selected as a finalist in the “Environmental Action” category of the “World’s Best School Prizes”, an initiative that aims to highlight institutions making a global difference in education. Only three schools from Türkiye were included in the list this year. The initiative seeks to recognize globally influential projects in education and innovative approaches.
A Distinctive Education Model
Arkas BILSEM was selected as a finalist thanks to its modern and flexible education model that fosters creativity. Through this approach, students are encouraged to work on projects that focus on topics such as environmental awareness, renewable energy, and recycling—all shaped according to their individual talents. By combining scientific and artistic production with a deep sense of social responsibility, Arkas BILSEM positions itself not just as a school, but as a forward-thinking center of ideas.
The school’s holistic educational approach—integrating art, science, and technology—nurtures students’ creative thinking, problem-solving abilities, teamwork skills, and a sustainability-oriented mindset. The local and international projects implemented by Arkas BILSEM so far showcase the tangible outcomes of this educational philosophy.
The fact that Arkas BILSEM has become one of the finalists not only demonstrates that Türkiye’s vision for modern education meets global standards but also reflects the meaningful role that private sector support can play in advancing education.
Striving to transform education worldwide, T4 Education is a global platform that brings together more than 200,000 teachers from over 100 countries. The “World’s Best School Prizes” aims to introduce inspiring educational models that create social impact and prioritize inclusivity and sustainability.
Arkas BILSEM and the other finalists will also compete for the “Community Choice Award.” Winners will be announced in October, and the award ceremony will be held during the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi on November 15–16.
