Arkas Sailing Team Wins the First Leg of EAYK-Cesme Marina Winter Trophy

The first leg of the EAYK-Cesme Marina Winter Trophy, comprising six race legs and hosted by Cesme Marina, has been completed. In the championship organized by the Aegean Offshore Yacht Club (EAYK), Arkas Sailing Team ranked first in the IRC-A1 class.

The 2024 Winter Trophy, jointly organized by the Aegean Offshore Yacht Club and Cesme Marina, concluded after two days of racing. Uniting passionate sea enthusiasts, the races were held in Cesme across two separate categories consisting of IRC and Support groups. Participating in the contest with their boat Arkas Blue Moon, Arkas Sailing Team won the IRC A1 category. Competing in a buoy and a geographical course, Arkas Blue Moon came second in the race on the first day, followed by a first-place finish on the second day, ultimately winning the first leg of the Winter Trophy.

Joy Lemon was the runner-up in the IRC A2 category, while Hit Sailing came first in the IRC A3 class. Nemo Balspor and Jazz Destek Sirius were the winners of the IRC B1 and IRC B2 classes respectively. Following the first leg held on January 27-28, the second leg races will start on February 17. In the preceding trophy event in 2023, Arkas Sailing Team became champions after the races in all legs.
