Mert Oruz, CIO of Arkas Holding, was recognized as one of the best CIOs in Türkiye at the 14th CIO Awards and received an award in the ‘CIO Hall of Fame’ category.
The 14th CIO Awards were presented at a ceremony. Great interest was generated by the Future of CIO Summit event, featuring panels comprising CIOs from different companies and presentations delivered by prominent organizations in the industry, prior to the award ceremony. This year, more than 180 projects were evaluated by the jury members. At the conclusion of the evaluations, awards were bestowed in several categories including Best CIOs of the Year, Innovative Leaders, Technology Leaders, Public Leaders, Strategic Transformation Leaders, and Best Cost Saving Projects.
Organized since 2010, the CIO Awards also presented honorary awards to successful CIOs this year. The honorary awards were based on criteria such as the implementation of projects by CIOs, their accomplishments across various platforms, and their achievements specifically related to the CIO Awards. Mert Oruz, the CIO of Arkas Holding, received an award in the ‘Hall of Fame’ category during the event that recognized technology leaders for their exemplary projects. The jury considered various factors in reaching their decision, including the industry’s value added by the projects, the CIO awards previously received, and the leadership qualities demonstrated among peers.
In a sense, the “Honor Awards” are deemed as the most prestigious of CIO Awards. The jury members of the event are Prof. Dr. Emre Alkim, Hakan Guldag, Emre Hayretci, Murat Yildiz and Oktay Aktolun.
