The 21st Annual New Year’s Bazaar, organized by the Piri Reis Schools’ PTA, was successfully held, with the proceeds dedicated to supporting the Aegean Forest Foundation.
Hosted at both the Güzelbahçe and Karşıyaka campuses, the event aimed to foster social responsibility, solidarity, and New Year’s joy among students. Over 2,000 residents of Izmir, including students, parents, and alumni, attended the bazaar, which featured nearly 100 booths and lively scenes, all accompanied by cheerful New Year melodies throughout the day.
During the event, young students sold handmade souvenirs created as part of their social responsibility projects, encouraging a sense of community. A raffle was also held, where valuable prizes were awarded to lucky winners.
PTA presidents Burcu Güler and Ayşe Çalışkan expressed their pleasure with the enthusiastic participation in the traditional New Year’s bazaar. They stated, “Each year, the proceeds from the bazaar are donated to non-governmental organizations that benefit society, particularly children. After the devastating forest fires in Izmir last summer, we decided to establish a Piri Reis Grove to raise awareness about forest fires. The first step was taken during our traditional sports festival, PiriSiklet. This year, the proceeds from the bazaar will go to support the Aegean Forest Foundation.
