Arkas Sailing Team, with its experience and discipline, successfully finished in fourth place at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious sailing races.
Arkas Sailing Team competed fiercely at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious sailing races. This year’s nine-day event hosted more than 240 boats across the Classic, Modern, and Maxi yacht categories. In the modern yachts class, around 118 boats competed in five separate groups, with 13 boats starting in the IRC 0. Throughout the race week, a total of five races were completed for the modern yachts, excluding one rest day.
Representing Türkiye in international waters, Arkas Sailing Team finished fourth overall in the IRC 0 class. According to the official results, Vesper claimed first place and won the BMW Trophy, followed by Zen in second, Nanoq in third, and Arkas Blue Moon (TP52) in fourth place.
Every Second Counts
“Saint-Tropez was an arena where boat traffic was dense and the wind shifts were extremely subtle, so every second counted. The team demonstrated a high level of discipline in helming, trimming, and maneuvering. Missing the podium by such a narrow margin is a great motivation for our next goals,” said Skipper Tolga Yagli. He also emphasized that they would prepare for the rest of the season with a more aggressive course and starting strategy.
In previous years, Arkas M.A.T. Sailing Team competed in the IRC C class with its boat “Blue Moon” and ranked ninth among 24 boats in 2023.
Pioneering the development of sailing in Türkiye, Arkas Sailing Team has made a name for itself through its national and international achievements since its establishment. With Arkas’ sports investments, experienced athletes, and professional technical crew, the team stands out not only for its race results but also for its mission to promote Türkiye’s sailing culture worldwide.
