Hosted by Cesme Marina, the races of the Winter Trophy in April have been completed. With their boat Comet-A, Arkas M.A.T. Sailing Team has ranked first in the IRC-A0 category at the 5th stage of the Winter Trophy, held in cooperation with Arkas M.A.T. Sailing Team, EAYK (Aegean Open Sea Yacht Club) and KAYK (Kusadasi Open Sea Yacht Club).
The first day of the races started with the briefing of Akif Sezer, Commodore of EAYK, who gave the floor to the Head Referee, Esref Uzun. After the briefing, the teams got to the starting line to race on the Geographical-5 route that was chosen due to the unstable wind conditions. The race has started with a delay of about an hour and a half due to the changeable weather.
Having completed the first day with a single race, the teams gathered at the starting line to race on the triangle route in the morning of the second day right after the briefing. In line with the decision of the referee board that was taken because of the changeable wind, Geographical-2 has been selected as route. Having competed on the windward route, the teams started to return to their starting point after the specified finish time at 5 pm.
The boats Comet-A, Nox, Kirmizi-1, Yediceriler, Prime Time, Ankara Sailing Club-Kairos, and Duygu-7 have ranked first in the classes IRC-A0, IRC-A1, IRC-A2, IRC-A3, IRC-B1, IRC-B2, and the Supporting Class, respectively.
With their boat Comet-A, Arkas M.A.T. Sailing Team also ranked first at the 4th stage races in the IRC-A0 and Overall categories.
The races of the next stage are going to be held between May 21-22, 2022.
