Onur Gocmez, CEO of Arkas Logistics, has attended the “2nd Career Meetings” as speaker, an event that was organized in cooperation with the International Trade and Logistics Department of Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University, and Career Development Application and Research Center (BANU-KAGEM). During his speech, Gocmez has suggested that students jump-start their career path while they are still in university and develop their foreign language skills.
Held under the moderation of the Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Serel, in the “Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Conference Room”, the “2nd Career Meetings” have been attended by Onur Gocmez, CEO of Arkas Logistics, academicians and students. The program has started with the opening speech of Assoc. Prof. Hatice Aydin, Head of the International Trade and Logistics Department, and continued with the speeches of the BANU-KAGEM Director, Dr. Armagan Turk, and Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Serel. After the speeches delivered by the academicians, the CEO of Arkas Logistics, Onur Gocmez, has made a presentation on the operations of Arkas Logistics. During his presentation, he has stated that paving the way for the youth is of utmost importance. Having emphasized that there are many young employees working at Arkas Logistics, Gocmez has suggested students develop their foreign language skills and jump-start their career path by getting a job while they are still in university. Moreover, Gocmez has explained that they have developed many projects and practices on digitalization, pointing out that it has gained great significance with the outbreak of the pandemic.
As a company that attaches importance to youth employment, Arkas Logistics offers employment and development opportunities for new graduates with its Young Talent Program. Out of 70 graduates, who benefited from the program last year, 45 are actively working in Arkas Logistics teams. This year, new graduates will join the talent program as well. Within the scope of the program, graduates are participating in the hands on orientation program that is provided by Arkas Academy and Arkas Logistics Human Resources Department. After completing the tests and interviews, assignments are made according to the preferences and competencies of the candidates.
In the second part of the event, the Q&A session was conducted under the moderation of the Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Serel. Onur Gocmez has given sincere answers to the questions of both Serel and the students. After the session was closed, the participants were presented with plaques and gifts, and the program ended with a photo shoot.
