Arkas Italia hosted the event “Le Rotte Commerciali Genovesi” that took place on September 18, 2023, discussing the commercial significance of the city of Genoa in trade routes.
Held as a 1-day conference in the ravishing ambiance of the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, the event was also attended by Ömer Gücük, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Rome, while Augusto Cosulich, CEO of Arkas Italia, and Tunç Soyer, Mayor of Izmir, were giving their speeches. “Le Rotte Commerciali Genovesi”, the main sponsor of which was Arkas Italia, focused on the fortifications and strategic commercial areas managed particularly by Genoa from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea. At the event, Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı delivered a speech regarding the inclusion of the Genoese castles in Izmir in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.
